An Update from the Field
It's a constant battle against the weeds and the bugs, and the heat of summer still lingers but the edge is taken off as the angle of the sun decreases. I've been busy the last weeks filling the beds emptied by the summer harvest with the seeds that will nourish us into the shortening days: winter squash, radishes, turnips, carrots, beets, lettuces, radicchio, escarole, fennel, and herbs to name a few. But the summer garden still provides and you can expect a few late season tomatoes and other summer treats the first few weeks of your CSA as we transition fully into a new season.
Keep an eye out for our CSA newsletter every Thursday morning. It will include pickup logistics, a preview of your veggies, some recipe ideas, and notes from the field.
